Hey guys! On Saturday, I had the opportunity to attend a wedding with a friend. I had NO idea what I was getting myself into, but let me just say that this wedding was BY FAR the best wedding that I have ever been too! Please check out a few of the sneak peaks. Once I get some pictures from the photographers I will post them!

Hey guys!! So this week has been crazy! I promise once I move and get settled, that I will update a lot more! Just some quick fun facts… I am working on a new website for my events and wedding company; I am hoping to reveal Favorite Things Weddings and Events SOON! So stayed tuned! The Word will still run once I get the website up and running, I will just use it more as a feeder to my other site, as well as keep update from my new home so that my family can see what is going on.
Well I am off to what is going to be a beautiful spring wedding here in West Texas! Remember, in the words of Joe Lewis— “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”
**Picture not mine! I found it on Pinterest!

Hey guys! So we have Karlie’s first appointment to look at wedding dresses! I am excited to officially get to work on this wedding! I don’t usually go to look at dresses or fittings, etc with brides unless requested. But, if you are a bride and you want someone who will tell you the truth that the dress that you are trying on looks hideous, then take you planner! :)

Speaking of dresses, in honor of my (hopefully) departure back to DC soon, I present to you one of my faves at the moment on Style Me Pretty!  This is a beautiful dress from Pronovias and I will tell you that I love ALL of its features!

Another thing that I am throwing up here are her bridesmaid dresses! Talk about simple and so cute! J.Crew knows how to do bm dresses!

Anyways, def check out this wedding, it is a must see!

Hello all!!! I am happy to announce my newest bride,Karlie! She is a good friend of mine and I am so honored to be planning her and Jimmy’s wedding! So stayed tuned for some great updates and a beautiful wedding!
I am on a outdoor venue kick at the moment, so please enjoy!

Boston or Seattle

I’m taking a quick break from weddings to ask…. Boston or Seattle?

Where are the good neighborhoods for a recent grad? What do you like, love, hate?

I’ve never been to either city, but have some job options… So needing some of you guys help!

Okay, so I have gotten some questions lately about music. Today I see more and more brides wanting to steer away from the typical here comes the bride, yet they want to keep there music very classy…

Here are some good examples of music that you can use! Juncurryahn is on iTunes, so check them out! (Please excuse the corny dancing :) )

Also, here are a few more people that I have had brides walk out too:

  • Philip Wesley
  • Bryan Crain
  • Trains “Marry Me” in a guitar and/or violin cover

Back on my affordable weddings spill… (sorry once again for the lack of posts)

Like I said earlier, Kyndra’s wedding rang in right around $7,500…. And you would have never been able to tell!

A big thing that hits a brides budget pretty hard is venue. Churches, reception halls, etc… they can add up really quick. The one piece of advice I can give brides is try and choose a venue that will allow you to do both the ceremony and reception in the same place!

Some venues have areas or different locations on site where you can hold both the ceremony and the reception. I personally like this because it creates less of a hassle. Most of these venues will look pricy. You need to look at everything that they have to offer. Most will have packages like base cost, food and xyz decor. This will help bring down a lot of costs.

For Kyndra’s venue, we chose a restaurant that had a “reception”hall. Even though she chose to have her events in separate locations, we were able to give and take in some things. The church that she was married was a little pricy (I wont lie) but the venue ended up being a little cheaper.

Choosing two separate location is fine, you just need to be thrifty with how you go about it. In Kyndra’s wedding, we chose to have the location cater. This helped our pricing since we were able to bundle food into the cost of the venue. If you are getting married in a church, ask if they “work” with any local venues. Some venues will give discounts if you get married in a certain place.

I personally want to get married at s family members house. If you are okay with an outside wedding and have a family member or friend with a beautiful house, do not be afraid to use it! This will save tons of money that you can use on a band or whatever splurge item you choose :). As for the reception, tents or old barns make great areas. I will have more on those in a few weeks!

Don’t think that you have to run out and book the Plaza to have a great wedding. There are many choices out there to fit everyone budget!
